Interview with Kendall Ogle
Teen Biz Alumni
Founder of Indigo Wear
Hello, I’m Kendall, an artist from Houston, Texas, currently a freshman in college studying music. I attended a teen biz camp a few years ago, which gave me valuable insights into business operations, especially in areas like entrepreneurship and marketing.
Could you tell me a few words about yourself?
I’d consider myself to be resilient and creative.
What inspired you to develop your idea?
I’d say wanting to express myself in a different manner and being able to wear what I actually like - whether that be through movie references or interesting color combos.
Knowing what you know now, is there anything you would have done differently when you were first starting out?
I would’ve definitely used all social media platforms and made more connections.
What is unique about your business?
I’d say my designs because they have a mixture of sarcasm with pop art.
What advice would you give to someone who is trying to become an entrepreneur?
I’d tell them to find their "why" and to do it from an authentic place - make something that brings value to you first. Then, after that, people will follow.
How do you define success and how long did it take you to find it?
I define success being able to have the freedom to live on your own terms. It took me a while to find it, but through self realization and practice, I believe that’s the meaning of success.
What are the qualities of a good entrepreneur?
The qualities of a good entrepreneur would be integrity, passion, and love. I believe anybody that’s creating a brand should use these three in order to feel the most fulfillment from it since, with entrepreneurship, it isn't guaranteed and has lots of highs and lows.
What are you working on now?
A lot of music and rebranding the brand.
How do you deal with fear and doubt?
Meditation and consistency. When I find a balance of those things, together, life can be more neutral and perspectives can open.

Interview with Christy & Brayden Mannering
I won the 2013 Healthy Lunchtime Challenge and got to go to The White House for the Kids’ State Dinner. The First Lady Michelle Obama asked me how I would pay the experience forward. I came up with the idea for Brae’s Brown Bags. Our mission is to provide healthy snacks to homeless and low-income individuals. Every bag includes a letter from Braeden, contact information for additional services who can provide further assistance. Three healthy snacks (each one is below 180 calories) and a bottle of water.
